Keeping Me in Stitches

this and that

A little bit of everything in this post.

First off, my Noro Silk Garden Clapotis is done, blocked and has been worn several times since my last post. However, I still don't have any pictures of it.

Next, I'm slogging my way through the miles of boring stockinette stitch on the sleeves of my Kyoto. I'm about 5 inches in from the seedstitch on the cuff.

Sock update! I've finished the first sock and am halfway up the foot of the second of my Stargazer Lily socks. Hopefully this weekend will be quiet at work and I'll be able to get a lot done while my patients sleep. Might even get to turn the heel!

New yarn: Bought some Crystal Palace Deco ribbon yarn in Ultra Blues to make a ribbon x-back tank from the spring knitty. I felt guilty going into a new LYS near my hometown and not buying anything, so I caved. Hopefully I'll only need 5 of the 7 balls I bought and be able to return the other two.

House cleaning!!! That's right! I have now officially cleaned my master bath, top to bottom, for only the third time since I moved into my town home one year ago! Eww!!! I know, I know. I'm a slob. But it's all sparkly now. And I never realized how much hair I shed. Nasty!

Got some cute puppy pictures that I'll probably post tomorrow since my camera's downstairs at the moment. I realized tonight that Phoebe, my fluffball (or should I say butterball) of terror is almost a year old and I hadn't taken any pictures of her in about the last 4 months. She's gotten so big and developed such a personality.

My knitting students at work are progressing wonderfully (see down about 5 posts). One of them just finished another scarf, this time in stockinette stitch, so she now knows how to purl! The other one is almost to the point of starting to knit the handles on her French Market Bag. She caught on to double points so quickly!

Guess that's it! Off to knit more on my sock while FotR plays in the background.

Clapotis!!

Since the pup decided she wanted a nap, I finally got the opportunity to block my first Clapotis! A gentle wash in the tub, then the use of an adapted "I Love Lucy" grape-stomping technique to squish the water out while it was wrapped in towels, and finally 30 minutes a knee-killing agony pinning the thing to the foam core I'm using for a blocking board. Pictures will follow soon. The camera's downstairs right now and I'm feeling lazy.

Cast on for the sleeves to my Kyoto at work the other night. I'm really glad that seed stitch only has to go for an inch and a half. Once Kyoto's done, I need to get going on Tempting so that I have something to wear for handbells come fall. Too much to do!

my SP rocks!!!!!!

Came home from a continuing education class at the hospital to find that I had a package in the office. Surprises from my wonderful SP!!!! Here's the loot!

She got me a very cool postcard that's now residing on my fridge, a notepad for work, perfume samples from Ralph Lauren and Dolce & Gabbana, three boxes of bread sprinkles that I fondly remember from a foreign exchange student in high school, some Regia silk sock yarn in an olive green, and some of the coolest sandals known to the world! I love the sandals and they fit, my dear SP! They also happen to match a skirt that I bought over the weekend and had no shoes to wear with it. Hmm...hidden spy cameras perhaps?

Here's an attempt at a better pic of the sock yarn.

And finally, a pic of my Civil war dress progess. The sleeves are on at long last!!! Still need to hem the cuffs and put on the buttons, but that'll come later.

Thanks again to my SP!
