a few little housekeeping items

- I forgot how good Toblerone chocolate is. Thanks, Mom and Dad!

- Five more days of work and I'll be heading out on vacation.

- For the sit and knit ladies....I ordered the four cones of Zephyr when I got home. I got Peacock (for Miriam), Ebony (for Eliza and Alicia), Mahogany (for Deawn), and Bottle Green (for me).

- The Rock and Weave socks are finished...minus attaching the buttons...which would entail finding some buttons to attach. I might be raiding Grandma Sween's button box tonight.

- Just need to finish my friend Sarah's birthday present and get that in the wash so she has it by next Friday (yes, I'm going to be early early early with the birthday present this year....I need to make up for getting it to her 6 months late two years ago).

I know there aren't any pictures. I'm lazy and don't want to walk my butt downstairs to get the camera. I'll put them up next week.

Whose fault is it now?

I can't blame Minnie for this one. Guess I'll have to blame Miriam. After all, she's the one who brought the yarn on Thursday to SoP. Gorgeous sock yarn that was only $14 for 450 yards. She let us fondle it and exclaim over the beautiful colors....then she handed out the business cards for a lady names Lisa Souza.

....I put in an order today. I've got sock yarn in the colors of Joseph's Coat, Pacific, Shade Garden, Sky Drama, Wild Things, South Pacific, and Little Devil coming to me in a few weeks. I also ordered fiber to spin....blue faced leicester in Emerald City (I would have gotten this in sock yarn if she had it listed), and superwash merino in Elektra.

Lisa was really prompt and emailed me back a few hours after I put my order in. She suspects that we're up to something in Omaha since I was the fourth person to put my order in today. So fess up ladies!! What did you order?!

I'll put up a knitting/spinning/pictures post probably on Sunday at the earliest and Tuesday at the latest.

hilarious videos!

First off, we have the Mentos and Coke video. I've seen people blow up pop bottles with dry ice and pop, but I've never seen the fountains these guys make.

Next is The Evolution of Dance. I about wet myself the first time I watched it and it's provided endless watchings of entertainment since. Is it sad for me to admit and my friends and I did almost all of these dances at the Flamingo Ball (college homecoming dances)? Oh well...those were good times.

In knitting news, I'm ready to turn the heel of my second Pirates sock. And I have both the cuffs of my rock and weave socks done.

ummm...

Not much new to report here. Miriam and I decided that since there were only two of us we weren't going to drive all the way down to Nevada. We both had stuff to do around the house, and the extra time would help us get that done.

The Knitpicks order came on Thursday. It's mostly my mom's stuff. All I got was the Adamas shawl pattern and A Gathering of Lace. So many pretty ideas in that book.

The Zephyr laceweight was checked at Des Moines last night at 10. I'm hoping that it shows up today.

Went and saw X3 on Friday. It was okay. I guess I was expecting more from it and was severely disappointed that they killed off one of my favorite characters....they actually killed off 3 of the main ones. Then they completely set it up for a fourth movie even though this one has the title of "The Last Stand."

I guess that's it. In knitting, I started my second black purl sock and broke out the leaf lace shawl that I haven't touched in about 4 months. More updates and maybe pictures later.
